Google has decided to get over the old version of Adsense for search and is recommending users to move on to the incredible new version which is backed by Google custom search. If you are seeing ‘powered by Google’ icon on your search result page then it’s the old version.

In a post on Google’s Inside Adsense blog, Katrina Kurnit writes:

“AdSense for search with CSE gives you more control over your search results without changing how you earn money showing AdSense for search ads. For example, with the new version, you’ll have access to advanced features like refinements and promotions. Our team has developed a number of updates and improvements during the past few months, and you can access more advanced features at www.google.com/cse.”

If you want to do the upgradation process then simply go to Adsense setup and look out for Adsense for search. After that decide upon the website which you want the users to search. Then follow up with customization and lastly do the updating of code.
