Google has improved its product search engine with novel capabilities to locate things in physical brick and mortar stores and for browsing their offline inventories. Just in time for busy holiday shopping season; the added functionality is planned as a complement to search engine’s ability to deliver links to products available in online stores.
When anyone looks out for a product; Google will tell the individual in which local stores in can be found in stock; along with map and other information like phone numbers plus addresses.
For imitating offline experience of browsing in a store; Google is even adding features called aisles and popular products in which akin and related products to the one browsed for are exhibited. These features will be available later this week.
Apart from this; Google has also enhanced its shopper product search application for Android devices; which locates products available in local stores and can be queried with both text and as well as by voice plus through photos of items and of their barcodes.
The new features are available in U.S. for the time being. Google’s product search engine presently indexes over one billion products from 200,000 merchants.
For the offline inventory information; Google is working with around 70 major retail brands which collectively have tens of thousands of physical stores. Google will try to expand the number of merchants feeding it offline inventory information.

A particular dilemma which SEOs have often faced is that websites which use Ajax for loading content can be much quicker and offer a better user experience however these websites can be tough for Google to index plus utilizing Ajax can harm the website’s SEO. Luckily; Google has put forward an offer for how webmasters can obtain best of both worlds.
Though Google made this offer a year ago; it was not able to attract attention; this post will be helpful for all those who have not explored this offer yet. Essentially; websites following this offer are needed to make two versions of content available; one for JS-enabled users and other for search engines.
Historically, developers had utilized named anchor part of URLs which is a hash mark and the text following it. Rather than utilizing a hash; the new offer needs using a hash plus and exclamation mark; this amalgamation intermittently has been called as hashbang by individuals who are geekier than me.
The moment you utilize this amalgamation in a URL; Google will come to know you are following its protocol; and will interpret your URLs in an exclusive way plus it will take everything after the amalgamation; and will pass it to website as URL parameter instead. Between Google’s forum and blog; you will find everything you require for turning your Ajax websites into something which both Google and your users will like.

In last year October,Google Announced that webmasters can remove their website pages from Google result just with the help of one Command. Interesting read more about this below:
As per Google the status code ‘410’ is very important and even more stronger than 404 status code for the site. Well Google Webmaster Help just showed another trend for suggesting how to use 410 by a Googler.
In the suggestion, Jonathan Simon was coated saying, ‘Last year we started treating 410 responses as being a stronger signal for indicating when a page no longer exists. So for the situation you describe (where 301 redirects aren’t practical) returning a 410 response is the way to go’
This help many SEO’s around specially considering that the 404 response code for the website is a way weak than the 410 status code.
To my analysis this might also mean that every time a 410 code is discovered for any website by Googlebot that simply means that Google will not going to index that particular page and in other words 404 pages will be checked every time by Google.
Great information for removing unwanted pages from SERP’s!
