Your Google mail IMAP now available with your desktop E-mail client

Filed under: Google, Webmasters — Candy Smith @ 7:55 pm

E-mail is the key element of web browsing. We have two options to get our messages either we can go in for POP or for IMAP settings. More and more users are going in for the latter option for their Google mail as it successfully creates a two way connection between the mail program and your mail. It basically keeps your Gmail in tune no matter which device you use to access it.

Another interesting point is that IMAP comes to you free of cost. In order to get started just enable IMAP in your Google mail. Next step would be to set up your client and then all you have to do is sign in to Gmail through the client and watch your messages popping in. You can also take help of client support team in case of any problems. Sounds like a great deal to me.

Chrome browser might come with speech capabilities!!

Filed under: Google, Webmasters — Tags: , — Candy Smith @ 8:06 pm

Your Google chrome browser might come with unique audio capability. Sounds really exciting to me!! Technologists at Google are working hard to achieve this amazing feature so that they take Chrome browser to a much higher level and make web experience for users richer.

“We’re hoping that the text-to-speech APIs as well as the voice input voice recognition ship in Chrome but also become a Web standard that is implementable by any browser out there,” Fette said.

Fette stressed that people want to use voice input systems. “People want to speak their input for certain types of queries,” So true I must say sometimes it’s easier to speak and difficult to pen down.

Google brings in Reader to exterminate Internet Explorer 6

Filed under: Google, Webmasters — Tags: , — Candy Smith @ 7:59 pm

Google has launched in Reader as a strategy to deal with Internet Explorer 6. By using Google Reader one can easily subscribe to one’s favourite websites and also get an updation about any new content. The Google reader maintains a record of things which you have read by giving it a dark blue border so that you can easily make out the unread items the next time you login. It will basically enhance your reading experience.

“Reader is a cutting edge Web application, and this will allow us to spend our time improving Reader instead of fixing issues with antiquated browsers,” said Mihai Parparita, an engineer with the Reader team.

Google reader undoubtedly gives you better control over your feeds and also gives up an option to either share your folders or keep them private.

Google’s another novel development: Android 2.2

Filed under: Google, Webmasters — Tags: — Candy Smith @ 6:47 pm

Google launched its Android 2.2 mobile OS which has enterprise-level features on this Thursday. The mind boggling speed boost and Flash support in this new product will surely make it a craze among all mobile buffs.

With an unusual codename “Froyo,” Android 2.2 has more than twenty new features which will sure give your old phone a new classy makeover and also will make it a Wi Fi hotspot. Google claims of performance improvements of 2-5 time over android 2.1 can be a major reason to go for this operating system.

It’s critically important for us to make the Android browser rock, and we’re going to constantly improve that browser. Froyo is a major step in that direction,” said Google’s Vic Gundotra, vice president of engineering. Great work by Google!!

Google gives search result pages a new fresh look

Filed under: Google, Webmasters — Tags: , — Candy Smith @ 4:09 pm

The leader of all the search engines Google has decided to give a face-lift to their search result pages. The brand new concept of result refinement controls seems to be very user friendly. The menu of search options will also have newer features now which will make it more resourceful.

The “Something Different” section sounds really nice to me which will be a foil for the query refinement. It will basically give you a list of topics related to your query.

Google went through a lengthy testing process before settling on making these changes”:, said Patrick Riley, Google’s technical lead for Web search.

The whole idea to amalgamate the search experience clearly shows Google like always has maintained its standing of being the best in the market.

Now that’s what I call a stupendously fantastic gift by Google for its users. Pac-Man doodle will be available free for all that too on the Google’s main landing page. Last week Google celebrated Pac-Man doodle 30th anniversary with great fervor and decided to give this amazing present.

We’ve been overwhelmed — but not surprised :-) — by the success of our 30th anniversary PAC-MAN doodle,” wrote Marissa Mayer, Google’s vice president of search products and user experience, in a blog post. “Due to popular demand, we’re making the game permanently available.

All true die hard fans of Pac-Man doodle couldn’t have asked for more.
